Ocean County Parks & Recreation issued the following announcement on April 8.
On, April 3, Luci Street (12), as part of her Girl Scout Silver Award Project, led an Eastern Bluebird nest box program at Cloverdale Farm County Park. Not only did park patrons get to build a bluebird nest box to take home, Luci educated the public about the current Eastern Bluebird population in New Jersey, the importance of monitoring and habitat selection when deciding where to mount their nest box.
Berkeley VFW Post 9503 donated the hardware supplies and and Ed McCay the cedar lumber “Thank you”
Thank you Luci for deciding to team up with the Ocean County Parks Department to complete your silver award project and doing such an incredible job. You far exceeded our staff’s expectations.
