Attacks on religious groups are increasing both in the United States and globally, leading lawmakers and advocacy organizations to intensify efforts to raise awareness about religious persecution. In response to these developments, Congressman Chris Smith, who has a long history of supporting religious freedom initiatives, recently held a hearing focused on this issue.

Capitol Hill correspondent Erik Rosales reported on the event, which brought attention to the growing concerns over religious persecution worldwide. “The full interview can be viewed by clicking here,” Rosales said.

Congressman Chris Smith represents New Jersey’s 4th district in the U.S. Congress, a position he has held since 1981 after succeeding Frank Thompson. Smith was born in Rahway, New Jersey in 1953 and currently resides in Manchester Township. He graduated from The College of New Jersey with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1975.
